Darlene Holman went home to be with the Lord on September 6, 2016 in Victoria, BC. Darlene was born on September 27, 1953 in Duncan, BC to her Swedish parents Leo and Ina Bergstrom. She attended Cowichan High School then went on to earn diplomas as a counselor, healthcare assistant and early childhood educator. Darlene’s life’s passion was teaching and nurturing children as well as counseling and taking care of all those around her. Just before falling ill in August Darlene was attending the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. She loved reading and writing and never stopped learning and growing both spiritually and educationally. Darlene loved nature and walks on the beach with a coffee, especially at her favorite beach Rathtrevor in Parksville, BC. In passing Darlene will be joining her parents’ Leo and Ina; three brothers Lennard, Lloyd and Allan; and sister Carol. Darlene is survived by her sister Doris; brother Craig; daughter Steacey; sons Andrew and Spencer; granddaughter Chloe; and newest grandchild to arrive in February.
Please join Darlene’s family in Celebrating her life at 1pm on Saturday October 1st at Duncan Pentecostal Church, 931 Trunk Rd, Duncan, BC.
In Lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made in Darlene’s name by cheque to the lunch program at Alexander Elementary School, 2471 Beverly Street, Duncan, BC V9L 3A3.

Darlene passing is so sad. Darlene was a bright light for anyone who knew her. Darlene did a practicum at Little Promises Preschool in Parksville a few years ago. She brought passion and understanding, from her heart to each child she embraced. I loved working with her and my heart is sad to loose the gift she was. She will be an angel in the heavens guiding her family and children.

I was so saddened to hear of Darlene’s passing. Over the last 9 years I got to know her as a hard working woman, a good mother and grandmother. She always wanted to tell me what her kids were up to and the cute stories of her little Chloe. My deepest sympathy to Spencer and the rest of Darlene’s family. Cherish the memories of this lovely woman.
