Daniel Trapler

December 6, 1966 - May 27, 2014

Born in 1966, in Duncan, Dan never strayed too far from the Cowichan Valley.  Dan worked for many years at the Crofton Mill and especially enjoyed his last position at the weir in Lake Cowichan.  Before ill health Dan enjoyed many hobbies including motorcycle riding, fishing, fast cars, wheeling and dealing, and poker nights.  Dan leaves behind his mother Val, sister Susan, brother Len (Lesley) and niece and nephew Grace and Jack.  Dan was a loving and doting uncle and will be missed by all of us.  Dan, you never gave up hope and never gave up fighting your cancer.  You are in a better place now, no more pain.  I know you are with the Lord.  Many thanks to Dr Seymour and a wonderful  staff of Home Care and Home Support.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Edwards Roman Catholic Church, 2085 Maple Bay Road, Duncan BC on Tuesday June 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Followed by interment at Mountainview Cemetery.

Dear Susan and family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Hold each other close and celebrate the memories of Danny. I wish there were something more I could say to make this better. As I get older, I realize sometimes all you can do is hold each other close and celebrate the good memories.

From: Dan Johnson
Relation: My fishing buddy.

It was good to meet some of the family today. Dan & I caught these bad boys in the Sansum narrows (I believe it was in 98). That was an AWESOME day! LOVE to see Dan’s big glowing smile!!! That 23 pounder is still (sad to say) the largest salmon I’ve caught to date. These were good times and this is how I remember my old buddy. :o(

If any of you would like a copy of the fishing picture (in better quality) just shoot me an email. Kindest regards, Dan.
