Dalyce Waldner-Morson

December 23, 1963 - May 12, 2020

Tribute

After a 4 ½ year battle with Cancer, with the last months in constant pain, she was taken from us at the young age of 56 years.

Pre-deceased by her father, Harvey.

A loving wife, mother, sister, and daughter, she is survived by her grief stricken family. Mother Barbara Waldner, husband Guy Morson, and children Travis (Sandra), Aaron, Heather (Grady), Shane, and Linda. Siblings Janice, Brett, and Curt, as well many nieces and nephews.

Dalyce was selfless and strong, with family being the centre of her life; making sure that birthdays and other special occasions were all celebrated in proper fashion. Christmas being her favourite time, she outdid herself year after year with her preparations.

Dalyce and Guy made a life together raising 5 children. Dalyce was also an equal and important part in the success of the family business “The Shedguys” with 2 of the children now involved.

Dalyce was a dedicated volunteer for the South Cowichan Youth Softball Association, eventually becoming the president of the league for many years.

Dalyce was an avid horseback rider, and her life-long dream to own a farm was realized in 2014, on which she happily spent her final years taking care of various animals, including her two horses Chico and Ginger.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Jill and the girls for their continued help and support, Doctors Masuda, Moulaison, and McGhee. Also Rhea, Leslie, and staff at the Cobble Hill IDA Pharmacy.

The family would also like to recognize the First Responders who tended to their Mum on August 29th. 2019 at their home, and helped give them another 9 months to cherish with her.

She asked for so little, and gave so much.

To the Morson and Waldner Families,
I am so sorry to hear of Dalyces passing. Over the last few years we hadn’t had a lot of contact, but I always looked forward to her Christmas cards she sent, updating me on all her family. In last years card she had said she was feeling good and enjoying life to the fullest, so I was surprised to hear the news.
I went to high school with her, but we didn’t start hanging out until after graduation.
We had some good times together.
I remember a toga party she had at her parents place (which I’m sure they didn’t know about) and a pyjama party at her townhouse she had rented with some girlfriends. We did a roadtrip together to see the Moody Blues, lots of laughs on that one. She got me a job at Marigold Nursery and then again at Borden Mercantile. After she moved up island we didn’t see each other very often, but we did visit and see a couple of the homes her and Guy had built. I wish I had visited her at her farm.
I think of her often when visiting the past and will never forget her and the fun we had together.
Thinking of you all at this very sad time,
Connie (Deeprose) Moniz

We were so sorry to hear of Dalyce’s passing.

Dalyce was truly a fine person. Our three boys were fortunate to be able to play in the SCYSA for many years. Dalyce was a key figure in organizing and leading the league and making it all happen for the entire community. We cannot thank her enough for all of her efforts.

Over the years, I would often run into Dalyce. I always enjoyed our conversations with our last one being very heartfelt. I admired her honesty and strength.

Our thoughts are with you all.

Guy, Travis, Aaron, Heather, Shane and Linda I am so sorry to hear of Dalyce’s death. So much fun we had at baseball, trying to keep all those parents in line! I thoroughly enjoyed her company and valued her assistance. As is often the case we did not keep in touch enough – but every now and then we would have a visit and catch up on things. So sad, too young. Always in my memories.

We at Borden Mercantile we deeply saddened to hear of Dalyce’s passing. We remember Dalyce fondly as a hardworking and positive member of our team. On a personal note, I remember her kindness when I became a new mom several months after she did and she brought me a basket of baby essentials she knew I would need. After she left us to raise her kids it was great the way she always kept in touch, updating us on all the family happenings. To the Waldner and Morson families, please know that you are in our thoughts at this difficult time.

We are passing on our belated sympathy for Dalyce’s passing. Having gotten to know her well during all of the softball years we worked together she will be missed. Dalyce will be remembered for all of her generosity for the kids and her kids first agenda. Scott, Clare, Teagan and Tasmin
