Corey Andrew Nicholson

Tribute
It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Corey Andrew Nicholson.
Corey was born May 4, 1979 to Bonnie and Ken Nicholson. He was was predeceased by his mother Bonnie in 2009. Ken, was an important part of Corey’s life and although their interests were completely different,( Ken loves cars and Corey loved to knit ) they enjoyed spending time together and Corey loved his dad immensely.
Corey was married to his best friend Leah, aka his “lobster” and they had 2 beautiful children Bailey Nicholson and Zander Nicholson. Corey loved to reference “Friends” and it became a funny and endearing part of his life with his family. Until the end he still would call her his lobster 🦞 and soul mate.
Corey enjoyed spending time with Bailey(Jaymes) watching him build world’s in Minecraft and playing Animal Crossing together. Corey would smile at Zanders love of Mario and Luigi and once filled the house with toilet paper ghosts so Zander could capture them like in Luigi’s mansion.
Corey also leaves behind a brother Shawn ( Tracey ) and sister Katrina ( James) and many nieces and nephews.
Corey had a special relationship with his sister Katrina and they talked every day and spent time together whenever they could find the time. He loved his sister with all his heart and it wasn’t uncommon for her and Mariah to be playing Monopoly or other fun games together with Corey.
His passing unexpectedly leaves the family saddened and he will be missed every single day, however it gives some solace knowing that he is at peace and now surrounded by his mom and grandparents and it is suspected they are all playing cards right now laughing and together.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date and in lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Canadian Mental Health Association.

Dear Ken and family, and all my cousins on Vancouver Island. Though we have not had a lot of contact in recent years, I can feel your hard loss over here on the mainland. So sorry for all those Corey leaves behind in this world. Keep loving and supporting each other.
