Tribute

It is with sorrow we announce the passing of Connie at the age of 85. She passed away peacefully at the Cowichan District Hospital surrounded by friends and the extraordinarily kind and caring staff at the Cowichan District Hospital. Connie was predeceased by her beloved Pat, her childhood sweetheart and soulmate whom she first met when she was fourteen when she attended Pat’s 16th birthday party. They were married in November 1952 until Pat’s passing in July 2012.

Pat & Connie emigrated to Toronto, Canada in March 1957 where they lived and worked until retirement. They moved to the Cowichan Valley in May 1994 building their dream house in The Properties near Maple Bay.

Connie is survived by her sister June and multiple family members spread around the world.

A memorial service for both Connie and Pat will be held on Thursday May 11th at the New Life Community Baptist Church, Duncan at 1:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cowichan District Hospital Foundation

H.W. Wallace Cremation and Burial Centre Staff send our condolences to family and friends.

From: Laura Muise and Joel Rushworth
Relation: family friend

Connie (and Pat) were fixtures at our house for all the special holidays for decades- Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving – and very much a part of our family. They may have not been blood relatives but we were family tightly joined by a lot of laughter, good food, and conversation. I will miss Connie’s chatter and her spirit and will, like with Pat, always see them sitting around our table when we gather though they are gone.

From: Elizabeth Escobar
Relation: Friend

I’m so very sad to hear about Connie’s passing, and my thoughts are with everyone who’s missing her. I met Connie in 2013 when we were both on a tour through Britain. Though we’re sixty-some years apart in age, we became fast friends and I treasured our sweet bond. I was lucky enough to visit Connie twice at her beautiful home in Duncan and meet her kind friends and community that clearly adored her. I’ll miss Connie dearly, but I know that she’s happy to be reunited with Pat once again.
