Colleen Milligan

July 18, 1944 - September 6, 2009

Tribute

Milligan: Colleen Gladia – passed away suddenly but peacefully on Sunday September 6, 2009. Born in Miami, Manitoba on July 18, 1944. Colleen is lovingly remembered by her family; partner Lesleigh and her daughter Kate; brother Steve (Mary) and their son Barney; sister Arta (Tom) Bynski and their son Michael (Jen); her faithful companion Buddha; as well as numerous other family, friends, her Home Hardware Family and the many customers she had the privilege of serving.
Colleen had a great sense of humor. She owned St. Patrick’s Day at the brew pub. Gardening and decorating were passions, and Colleen ALWAYS had an artistic project in the works. A highlight each summer was helping out with the Dave Craw Memorial Golf Tournament. Most of all she loved spending time with friends which will leave very fond memories for all those she had the pleasure of meeting. The family wishes to thank Dr. Gallagher, the ER nurses, and Rowena, Amber and Sue from 2 South for treating Colleen like a princess xox!
A celebration of life for family and friends will be held on Wednesday September 16, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m. at 7711 Richards Trail, Duncan BC. Flowers gratefully declined, if so desired, memorial remembrances may be made in the form of a donation to the Cowichan District Hospital. Online condolences may be offered at www.hwwallacecbc.com.

Disbelief and sadness fill my heart.
Colleen’s laugh, her sparkling blue eyes and her sense of humour will be missed always.
I could not find a more loyal, loving friend…..intensely private yet always willing to share her time and energy with me.
In my book of life, she will forever be found under the heading “True Friend”.

Rest in peace dear Col, knowing you were loved and you truly made a difference.

i’m shocked and saddened. colleen was a bright light through many years of my life. she was always ” good to go” and up for any new adventure. she was also an honest and good person, and generous to a fault. you will be missed my friend.

Wow, we are so sorry to hear the news! Colleen was wonderful. We first met at Pim’s and again at Home Hardware. She was always “right up there”. Eager to help out with that great attitude and smile…we will think of her always. A true loss. From our family to yours, our thoughts are with you.
