Christina Michelle Ames (Bowness) was born in Salmon Arm on April 16, 1970, to November 24, 2025, and is predeceased by her father John Bowness, grandparents Donald and Evelyn Ames, and her beloved cat, Casper. She is survived by her mother Wendy Mohamed, and sister Victoria “Vicki” Bowness.
Christina started her life in British Columbia and spent her childhood on the Island where she grew her lifelong passion for playing softball. She grew up with a nurturing heart, caring for her baby sister and her pets – she loved cats. After high school she joined the military reserves in Victoria as a medic, serving until 1996.
She was always passionate about her career, whether it be in custom cabinet making, power engineering, or facilities maintenance – taking her across the country, residing in both Toronto and Edmonton.
She returned to Cowichan just over a year ago, where she was able to reconnect with childhood friends, and established some fantastic new ones too.
Always a ray of sunshine and joy, she felt very much at home here, enjoying the ocean breezes, lush outdoors, and spending time with good people at the little town cafes.
A Celebration of Life is will be held at H.W. Wallace, 2853 Roberts Road, Duncan on August 15th, 2026 at 1 pm.
