Dear Margot and family: Our sincere condolences to you for the loss of Cec. Working with Cec at John Barsby in my first years of teaching were my best years. I remember him as being respected by all his colleagues who were also all friends. We shared some special memories. He was an excellent vice principal — one of the best I’ve worked with. He was always supportive and there anytime you needed him. He was one of the reasons that Barsby was great at that time. He will be sorely missed. Sincerely: Rick, Janice, Mark and Matt

Margot, Steven, Nadine and families – I am so sorry to hear of Cec’s passing – he was such a wonderful man – I have such fond memories of my Barsby days with him – that little glint in his eye when he was kidding me about something .. or our chuckles in the lunch room about his daily sandwich on white bread (even though you were such a wonderful cook Margot!) .. you are all in my thoughts during this difficult time – love to all – deb and girls

Dear Margot and Family,
I was very saddened to hear of Cec’s recent passing. I have very fond memories of my days of working with Cec at John Barsby. His support and guidance with students who struggled in the system. was one of his many strengths as an educator. I remember fondly our fun times at staff get- togethers with Cec’s hearty laugh and funny jokes..
Thinking of you Margot, Cynthia Chelsom

Relation: Grade 13 classmate

It’s been a lot of years since grade 13 at Stanley Humphries HS in ’60/61, but it seems much too soon for Cec’s passing. We were part of an extended group of friends from Castlegar who went to UBC, and though our paths scattered and we didn’t see much of each other after that, a sense of closeness always remained. Cec was a good guy who could be serious, but he brought an unfailingly gentle streak of good humored appreciation for people.
