Oct. 31, 1919 – May 5, 2012
Passed away peacefully at Cowichan District Hospital, May 5, 2012. Kay was born October 31, 1919 in St Benedict, Saskatchewan. She was the ninth of 11 children born to Otto & Barbara Seufert.
Predeceased by nine of her brothers and sisters and husband, Andy in 1976. Survived by daughter, Denise (Donne), granddaughter, Shelley (Raymond), grandson, John (Tanya), great grandchildren, Brayden, John, Madison & Morgan. Many nieces and nephews and a large extended family.
Kay was an enthusiastic volunteer in her community being recognized for her long time service by the Cowichan Valley Seniors Organization and Royal Canadian Legion for 50 years service as an auxiliary member.
Kay was an avid afghan crocheter, enjoyed a good game of cards and loved to bake, and participate in Cowichan Valley Seniors and Legion events. Kay was a loving Mother and Grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Many thanks to the Doctors and Nurses of CDH, Cowichan Home Support and the Management and staff of Sherwood House for their kindness shown to Kay.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in St. Edward’s Catholic Church, 2085 Maple Bay Road, Duncan BC on Saturday May 12, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. The Reverend Father Alfredo Monacelli Celebrant. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Diabetes Association, 1-4166 Departure Bay Road, Nanaimo, BC V9T 4B7, or to the CDH Foundation, 3045 Gibbons Road, Duncan, BC V9L 1E5.
