Carol (Caryl) Anne Worden
April 24, 1955 – May 11, 2011
Caryl gracefully slipped away on Wednesday, with her soul mate and partner, Evo Marcon at her bedside. Her cancer journey until her final days did not dissuade her focus as a life long learner and until her final days she connected, created and communicated. She has left all those, who had been in her presence, better for the experience.
I would like to thank the Cowichan Valley Hospice Society for their compassion, friendship and kindness; the Shawnigan Lake School family for their support and generosity from the initial diagnosis to her final days; to the staff at Shawnigan Lake Medical Clinic and Shawnigan Lake Pharmacy for their superb medical care; to the Community Home Care and Nursing Services for the home care provided so that Caryl was able to die at home; to our families, friends new and old, for the flowers, cards, hugs, emails and random acts of kindness.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, May 29th at 6:00 at Shawnigan Lake School. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to either the Cowichan Valley Hospice Society or to the SPCA.
