Bill Glauser
May 20, 1945 - March 4, 2015
Tribute
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bill (Trapper) Glauser on March 4, 2015 at The Palliative Care Unit in Nanaimo Hospital. Bill was born May 20, 1945 in Regina Saskatchewan and was predeceased by his parents Vernon and Patricia Glauser and his brother John Glauser.
Bill is survived by his friend Andrea Davis; his sisters Brenda and Maureen; his children, Aaron, Charleen, Calen (Kim), Emery (Jamie) and Lindsay (Carman); his ten grandchildren Christina, Elijah, Edwin, Emma, Evan, Graysen, Huxley, Josh, Kaelen and Layla; his nieces Melanie, Tiana, and Laurie; and nephew Kent; and great nieces and nephews.
Bill resided in Crofton, BC and had worked at the Crofton Pulp and Paper Mill on the train in the shipping department where he made it to Head Brakeman. His love of trains had been something he acquired as a young boy from his Grandfather.
Bill was known for his helpfulness, sense of humour, laughter, smile and being a loyal friend to many. Bill enjoyed many fishing and hunting trips with his good friend Mike Duringer where many laughs and adventures took place. There was never a dull moment on these occasions and lots of stories to be told. Bill also enjoyed his friendship of over twenty years with Larry Guhl, who never seized to amaze Bill with his incredible mechanical abilities. He cherished his walks at Osborne Bay Park and Chemainus Lake with his two Labrador Retrievers Ebony and Niko. He was a musician at heart with a passion for playing the blues on his harmonica and piano. He could be seen enjoying a coffee at Amy Jo's in Crofton surrounded by many friends. He will be deeply missed by all.
Thank you to Angie Winter, Mike and Pat Duringer, Kathy Jessome, and Larry and Loan Guhl for all of your help and support. A special thank you to all the staff at Palliative Care Unit in Nanaimo Hospital especially Dr. Calvin, Sarah, Meredith, and Karen you are all truly amazing at the jobs you do.
As per Bill's wishes there will be no service. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Crofton Sea walk in his name.
