Beverly May Robertson

Tribute

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Beverly May Robertson (nee Skeet-Evans)  on May 28, 2025 aged 76 years at Cowichan District Hospital where she started her nursing career.  She led an active younger life with school, Girl Guides and 4-H.  Her Champion Steer made 50 cents a pound at the P. N. E. in the 1960’s and was able to travel the world during that same time period.  Born on March 30, 1949 she lived on the farm (Oakridge) on Somenos Road until she married Doug Robertson in 1982 and moved to Alberta.  She helped raise three children John, Bonnie and Heather.  While on the farm in Alberta they raised purebred Angus cattle.  As the children grew older, Bev worked at the seniors lodge in Crossfield where she had a 21 year career.  Eventually Doug and Bev sold the cattle and retired.  They decided to move back to the same farm that she grew up on and Bev felt that she had come home again.

Bev is survived by her husband Doug, children John, Bonnie and Heather (Son in law Darren), grandchildren Noel, Kayla, Kiersten and Rinaldo (son in law Matthew) and many extended family and friends of which there are too many to mention.  Bev was predeceased by her parents Lionel and June Skeet, her brother Richard and nephew David.

Doug and Bev traveled to the UK several times to visit Doug’s family and friends.  Bev loved Scotland and the people.  They once got to Wales to see the where the Evans family originated.  Bev loved Angus cattle and after show socials, her pets that were mostly inherited and getting together with friends and family.  She had a love for Christmas time.

Rest in Peace Bev “Sweetie” as you will be sorely missed by so many.

Until we meet again God Bless You.

From: Linda and Bruce Falconer
Relation: School friend

We will miss you, Bev, always a true friend. Through the years we didn’t always keep in touch but when we did we picked up where we left off. Lots of great memories from school, Cowichan Exhibition, PNE, skating on the pond in Somenos. So glad we reconnected when you and Doug returned to the coast. Rest in peace, love you my special friend.

From: Pam & George Fredrickson
Relation: Family friends

To Doug, John, Heather and Bonnie….we send you our heartfelt sympathy in the loss of Bev. She and her family were great people and worked hard to maintain their family name within the valley. She will be missed dearly!!
