Benedict Dupont

Tribute
It is with great sadness that we share the sudden passing of Ben Dupont, born the 8th of 10 children to Eileen and Maurice Dupont in Duncan, BC. Ben was predeceased by his brother Marc (Ann) Dupont and his father, Maurice. He is survived by his son Connor (Hollie), and their two children Weston and Hudson, and siblings Sharon (Wayne) Hiles, Del (Brenda) Dupont, Rick Dupont, Pam Dupont, Blair (Juanita) Dupont, Ellie Dupont, Maria Hiles, Theresa (Laurelee) Dupont and way too many nieces, nephews and cousins to mention!
Ben enjoyed playing hockey as a youngster and spent some time working in Alberta, but the Island was where his heart was, so he returned to work in forestry. Ben was a lot of fun and kept everyone in stitches with the Daffy Duck conversations he would have with Blair and Ellie, as well as the many accents he could imitate. He was also a great cook and loved to hike. He was well known for his humour, charm and potato salad. He will be greatly missed.
Half of his ashes will be laid to rest with his Dad and the other half will be scattered in the Spring as per his request.
No service at this time, though we hope to gather in the summer to share stories, memories and potato salad.

My brother Ben was always smiling and when he did smile, the whole world lit up. His charm and huge heart drew everyone into his circle of light. He loved being around his family and friends and making everyone laugh.
When we worked out in the bush he was always my partner and I loved working by his side. He not only had my back but he shared his wisdom and encouragement which helped me to be my best. We were a great team.
He was strong as an ox but also gentle as a whisper. He always gave 100% and he made chores fun and satisfying. He liked to keep busy but he was also willing to sit and chat if that’s what you needed. His adventurous soul brought numerous wonderful people into our world and all are still here in our lives. He blessed us with his son Connor. Connor was the light of Ben’s world and The love between them was magical. Ben was so sad when he moved so far away.
A spark went out.
Ben endured heartache like the rest of us but he stayed silent and he slowly slipped away from us. I wish I could have helped him more.
I’ll carry with me his joy for life and remember him in his glory days. I love you little brother, I’ll be with you again one day and we’ll dance in the stars. Rest peacefully.

hi everybody, very sad to hear about ben. we were really good friends in grade school, it’s a shame that mostly those friendships don’t extend into the later years, there’s always regrets about that when it’s too late. my sisters christa and lorraine and our mom maria would like to attend if there is a get together later this year…
