Mayhew: Beatrice Rose (nee: Groom)
Sept 14th, 1929 – May 25th, 2011
Betty passed away peacefully on the morning of May 25th, 2011, with her son and daughter in law by her side.
Betty leaves to morn her passing, her beloved husband, Norman, son Rod and daughter in law Denise, son in law Chris and grandson Ethan.
Predeceased by her daughter, Deanna, 2010 and brother Harry Groom, 2004.
Betty was born in Winnipeg and moved to Victoria with her parents in 1943. She became a model for Hudsons Bay and Eatons, also working as an executive secretary for Columbia Papers. She met her husband when they were both employed by McGavins bakery. They later formed their own company, Mayhew Trucking and Construction.
Enjoying their life working and building a family together for over 60 years. No service at this time, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family wishes in lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated.
