Barry John Tepleski

February 18, 1958 - November 24, 2019

Tribute

Barry John Tepleski, a loving father and husband residing in Cowichan Bay, BC, passed away in his sleep on November 24, 2019 at the age of 61.

Barry is survived by his children, Nadia and Devin; his siblings, Doreen (Paul), Thomas (Anna), Lawrence (Lillian), Betty (Dan), Gord (Deb), and Jeani (Nick); and his father-in-law, Bill Stutsky. He was predeceased by his wife, Velvet.

All evidence indicates he died peacefully in his sleep in the same spot where his wife passed. The room contained photo albums filled with wonderful memories of friends, family, wife and children. The portrait of Velvet that he kept on top of the bookshelf was looking down on him.

After many happy and fulfilling years working in sales at Hardwoods, which brought him to his new home in Cowichan Bay, BC, Barry had given his retirement notice. Barry was ecstatic to spend more time with family and friends and was ready to travel the world, like he and Velvet always wanted. A brand new suitcase was purchased around the day he gave his retirement notice at work. Though the trip was different than he planned, we think he will be happy to meet up with somebody special at the airport when he arrives.

A celebration of life will be held on Sun. Dec. 29th in his hometown of Selkirk, MB (Selkirk Golf & Country Club at 1pm) with a future celebration planned on Vancouver Island in the spring (details forthcoming).

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Rotary Club of Duncan, where Barry was a proud member. https://www.cowichanrotaryfoundation.com/donate/

H.W. Wallace Cremation and Burial Centre Staff send our condolences to family and friends.

From: Timi Hughes

I would like to extend my condolences to Barry’s children, siblings, father-in-law and friends on his sudden passing. I met Barry many years ago when his sister, Doreen and my brother, Paul, were married in Selkirk, Manitoba. (my birthday). Barry was their ring bearer and was dressed in a small version of an RCMP Uniform. That uniform was worn again on Doreen and Paul’s 50th wedding anniversary by their grandson, Adam. Again I am sorry for your loss. Rest in peace, Barry.

Barry would come into my office every morning for a coffee and a brief chat. I always looked forward to his visits because he was so cheerful. He would often tell me about his kids and how he always enjoyed visiting with them. I will miss Barry and our chats. My condolences to his family. You all are in my prayers.
