Ann Brackley

January 23, 1939 - January 16, 2017

Tribute

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ann Brackley on January 16, 2017 after a courageous battle over the years with Sarcoidosis. Ann is predeceased by her husband Victor Brackley and sisters Cynthia Knopp (Len) and Audrey Lakey, brother George, by her parents John Edward Woodrow and Edith Emily Feakins, brother in law Stanley Hall and great nephew Cory Hall. She will be greatly missed by her daugthers Julie Bouchard (Jacques) and Elaine Woodrow (Stefan Lerche) and grandchildren Emily and Eric Bouchard and her sister Patricia Hall. Also missed by many other family members, brother in law Kenneth Lakey, nephews and neices Linda, Lindsay, Douglas, Susan, Steven, Nigel, Roger, Jason, Sharon and their families.

Ann was born in 1939 and raised in Stanmore, Middlesex, England immigrating to Canada in 1971, moving to Cowichan Bay in 2007. Ann loved animals, especially her dogs Oliver and Baxter and the many birds and other wildlife who visited her garden daily. She was a proud and longstanding member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, the British/Canadian Social Club, Red Hats – Sassy Seasiders and the Arthritis Society.
The family would like to thank Cowichan District Hospital for their compassionate care especially in her last few days.

Fondly remembered and forever missed and loved. You fought hard now it’s time to rest.

At her request, a Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life will be held at the Anglican Parish of St. Peter, Quamichan, 5800 Church Road, Duncan, B.C. on Sunday, March 26th, at 2:00 p.m. In Lieu of flowers please make a donation in Ann’s Memory to either the Duncan SPCA or Wild ARC at www.spca.bc.ca

Both Gavin and myself send our healing thoughts and wishes as you mourn Ann. We hope Ann is now comfortably resting and surrounded by all she loved that has gone ahead. We enjoyed our visits with Ann and we were continually amazed by her love and dedication to all living animals. We hope you are all finding comfort in that kindness and those parts of Ann’s life and your memories that will carry on! With love, Trudy and Gav

We will miss Ann ! A beautiful soul who adored animals.

From: Gordon & Kathleen Howard
Relation: Long time friends

Ann was truly a happy bouncy person with a great sense of humour and openness. Ann came into our lives when our little family arrived in Canada back in 1977. In the early months of our transition into Canadian society Ann and her family guided us through the many hurdles you encounter as a newcomer. This was the start of a lifetime friendship that was built on kindness and trust. We will never forget you Ann and will always hold you in a special place in our hearts.
May you rest in peace.
