Allan Hawley Taylor

April 3, 1937 - January 7, 2019

Tribute

Allan Hawley Taylor      April 3rd 1937 – January 7th 2019

Allan was predeceased by his wife Robinette in 2014.  Allan is survived by daughter Cathy (Gilles) and son Mike (Frances), granddaughters Adelle and Virginia.

Allan was born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan and moved to Victoria with his mother in his early teens. Allan and Robin were married in 1964, and resided in the Strawberry Vale area. Dad enjoyed hunting and fishing. The family spent many a weekend, while the kids were growing up, exploring the back roads of the Cowichan Valley, armed with fishing rods and a tobacco tin full of worms. Al was an electrician by trade and spent most of his career at Victoria area shipyards. He retired from the DND in 1997.  After his retirement, Allan and Robin moved to Mill Bay.

Al was an active member of the Pacific Rim Hunting Retriever club, and the Salt Chuck Retriever club. He spent many happy hours with friends training dogs, and participating in hunt tests, both on and off the island. Al enjoyed visiting friends for coffee at Mill Bay Timmy’s and visiting neighbours while out walking his dog.

A celebration of life will be held on March 23rd, 2019 from 12–3 pm at the Mill Bay Community Hall at 1035 Shawnigan Lake – Mill Bay Rd.
