Tribute

Ajaib Singh Jaswal, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on February 29, 2024. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Surinder, his seven children, and 6 grandchildren. Born in the village of Narur in India, Dad and Mom came to Canada in 1968, settling first in Paldi, and eventually in Duncan, where they have made their home for the past 43 years. From these humble beginnings, Dad worked hard in the lumber industry to provide for his family, and create a strong foundation of morals and values on which we have all prospered. Of the many lessons he taught us, Dad made sure we understood the value of a dollar, and the hard work needed to earn it. He also emphasized the importance of humility, community service, faith, and family. In his last few months, we were blessed to be able to support and care for him until he passed. We would like to thank all of our family and friends, near and far, for their love and support. Dad’s light will live on in the hearts of all those he touched. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to a charity supporting geriatric services. The funeral service will be held on March 10, 2024, at Mellor Hall, Cowichan Exhibition Park, 7380 Trans Canada Highway, Duncan BC, followed by the final prayer service at Paldi Sikh Temple, 23 Paldi Rd. Doors open at 9:30 am, and the service will begin at 11:00 am.
