Adrianus Johannes Vink 1931-2011 It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Art Vink on April 13, 2011 at the age of 79. Born on September 22 at Haalemmermeer, Netherlands, Art immigrated to Canada in 1954 and was a successful farmer. He worked on farms in Ontario and Saskatchewan and operated farms in Alberta before moving to Sidney, BC in 1965. In 1972 the family moved to Duncan, BC where he farmed until his passing. For the past 16 years, Art and his wife Agnes enjoyed spending their winters in Yuma, Arizona. Survived by his wife Agnes, of 54 years and five children, Maria (Lee) of New Zealand, Cathrina (Bruce), Eugenia (Robert), Agnes and Wilfred: also , grandchildren Amie, Ben, Scott, Sean, Megan, and Steven, and great grandchildren Vanessa, Katie, Lachlan, Natalie, and Sophie, and his sisters, Ina, Corie, and brother Nick. A celebration of his life was held at St. Edwards Catholic Church, 2085 Maple Bay Rd. Duncan, Bc on Wednesday April 20, 2011 at 3:30 p.m. Art was a kind and generous man, who will be missed by his family and friends. Flowers gratefully declines. Memorial remembrances may be made in the form of a donation to the cowichan District Hospital Foundation, 466 Trans Canada highway, Duncan, BC V9L 3R6.
